Changes to DOD Vehicle Processing Centers

For more information and specific details concerning changes to the POV shipping program, see the news article, “Changes to DOD’s Privately Owned Vehicle shipping program start May 1.”

Hi, I’m Captain Aaron Stanley, the director of Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s Personal Property Directorate. At SDDC, one of our primary missions is to manage the shipment of household goods and privately owned vehicle shipments for Department of Defense service members.

We want you to know there are some changes to the DOD’s POV shipping program that will take effect on May 1st, 2014.

These changes include:

As of May 1, a new contractor – International Auto logistics – will take over the Global POV contract from American Auto Logistics. The new contractor will be managing daily vehicle processing at vehicle processing centers worldwide.

Some of our VPCs will be closing for the turn-in of vehicle on 30 April, to include Edison, New Jersey; Orlando, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Oakland, California. And many of our VPCs will undergo a change of address.

And, there is a new website available for service members to request and track their POV shipments. That web address is: WWW.PCSMYPOV.COM. The current POV provider, American Auto Logistics, will deliver all of the vehicles in their procession on 30 April to their final destination. To that end, their website will remain operational until all vehicles are delivered.

We want your permanent change of station to go as smoothly as possible. You can get more information about the new VPC locations and the VPC closure list from your local Transportation Office or Personal Property Shipping Office.
